Rt. Rev. Dr. Zacharias Mar Theophilus Suffragan Metropolitan

Rt.Rev.Dr.Zacharias Mar Theophilus Suffragan Metropolitan born (1938) to the late V.K. Oommen and Mrs. Mariamma Oommen, Mattackal Venparampil Niranam is the most respected member of the parish. He had his early education at Niranam M.T.L.P. School, St. Mary’s High School, U.C. College Aluva and Titus II Teachers Training College Tiruvalla. Thirumeni started his career as a teacher. After completing theological training from Leonard Theological College Jabalpur, he went to America for higher studies and took his Masters and Doctoral Degrees with distinction. He was consecrated as Episcopa on 1st May, 1980 and was consecrated as Suffragan Metropolitan on 3rd July, 2004. He started many projects and mission activities. Asha Bhavan Pathanapuram, Mochana de-addiction centre Kottayam, Santhigiri Ashram Aluva, Sinai centre New York, Thrikunnapuzha Mission, Karuthal Cancer care Centre, Narasapuram Mission and Aranmula are a few to mention. His Lordship’s ecumenical contributions in the National and International Christian circles are noteworthy. His Lordship was President of National Missionary Society of India, Bible society of India, World Mission of India, Theological Literature society and E.C.C. Bangalore. He was a prominent member in the Executive committee and Central committee of the World Council of Churches and executive committee member of Christian Conference of Asia. Thirumeni has been in charge of the Adoor-Mavelikara, Madras–Kunnamkulam, Kottayam-Ranny, USA-UK-Europe and Madras- Calcutta Dioceses. In all these Dioceses, he has established his imprint through his high quality of service. At present His Loardship is in charge of the Chengannur- Mavelikara Diocese.

Rt. Rev. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa

Rt. Rev. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa born (1959) is the son of Mr. K. P. Varkey and Mrs.Kunjamma Varkey, Kinattukara Parayil House Niranam. Thirumeni is also an eminent member of this parish. He had his early education at Niranam and College education in Erankulam. He took his M.Phil. Degree from M.C.C Madras. Later he went for theological studies in Bishop’s college Calcutta. He was ordained as a priest on 30 th July, 1986. For his administrative capabilities he received many awards. As the Principal and Manager of St. Thomas School Ranchi, he received ‘The best Principal’ award of the Bihar Government. He was the secretary of Mar Thomas Medical Mission. He was consecrated as Episcopa on13th August, 2011. He is widely acclaimed for his oratory and administrative skills. He is the President of Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam and presently the Episcopa of Kunnamkulam -Malabar Diocese.
